Current Projects

MUSICAL THEATRE:

    Wallenberg- (with co-lyricist/librettist Felicia Needleman and composer Benjamin Rosenbluth) Original musical drama about Raoul Wallenberg, one of the greatest heroes of the 20th century. A staged reading of this show was presented at New World Stages in September 2006 as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival. A full production is in the planning stages.

    That Time of the Year - (with co-lyricist Felicia Needleman and composers Sanford Marc Cohen, Nicholas Levin, Donald Oliver, Kyle Rosen, Brad Ross, Mark Wherry and Wendy Wilf) A funny and touching multi-cultural, multi-faith, multi-generational musical revue of original songs celebrating the joys and anxieties of the holiday season. Premiered off-Broadway in December 2006 at the York Theatre in Manhattan. Original Off-Broadway Cast Recording due out on JAY Records soon. Show now available for licensing through Theatrical Rights Worldwide.

     

     

    • Listen to the Philadelphia Choir perform "Miracles Can Happen" from That Time of the Year! (December 17, 2006)

    The Jerusalem Syndrome - (with co-lyricist/librettist Felicia Needleman and composer Kyle Rosen) An outrageous musical comedy based on the real-life psychological malady which causes visitors to the HolyCity to believe that they are characters from the Bible. The show will be featured at the 2008 New York Musical Theatre Festival September 23-October 4. Tickets go on sale September 1st. A developmental staged reading of this show starring Mike Burstyn, Janet Metz, Danny Binstock, Robert H. Fowler, Stuart Zagnit, Richard H. Blake and Deone Zanotto was held at the York Theatre in Manhattan in October 2007. Plans for a full production are in the works!

    SCREENPLAYS:

    • Fella - (with co-writer, Marc Goldsmith)Coming-of-age story about an 11-year-old African American boy living in Washington, D.C. in 1940, whose mother is a maid in FDR's White House and who is assigned by Eleanor Roosevelt the task of caring for Fala, the Scottish terrier, for the week before the dog was to be presented as a Christmas gift to the president.
    • The Queen is in the Parlour - (with co-writer, Marc Goldsmith)Comedy about an elderly brother and sister living in a small town in England who manage to kidnap the Queen in an effort to get her to knight their younger brother who has always looked after them.

    CHILDREN'S BOOKS:

    • My Zoo - In this rhyming picture book filled with animal facts, a young boy dreams of owning a zoo where the animals are arranged alphabetically.
    • Right at Home - Picture book about humanity's place in the cosmos.
